Link Light Rail (Line 1 and Line 2) reaches the stadium through three nearby stations: Pioneer Square, International District/Chinatown and Stadium. King County Metro runs more than 15 daily bus routes that stop within three blocks, and Sounder commuter trains use King Street Station, about a football field away. The stadium runs no shuttles of its own and does not subsidize transit, and trains and buses get crowded on game days.
On-site parking is limited to the Lumen Field Parking Garage and the North Lot, and most spots on Seahawks days are pre-sold to season ticket holders. Passes are sold only through Ticketmaster or SpotHero, and StubHub passes are not accepted. Both lots close three hours after the event, and garage entries get a quick K-9 security screening. Without a pass, nearby garages such as Metro, Union Station and T-Mobile Park are the usual fallback; rideshare drops are at King St and Occidental on the north side or Royal Brougham and Occidental on the south.
Lumen Field does not allow tailgating in its on-site parking lots. The stadium points fans to each team's own website for suggested alternatives, so check the Seahawks' gameday guide for where fans gather before kickoff.
The roof covers about 70 percent of the seats but leaves the field open, so seats under it are the better bet in wet weather. The upper decks are cantilevered over the lower bowl, which pulls fans closer to the action than the stadium's small 30-acre footprint would suggest. The north end is open toward downtown Seattle, giving skyline views from that side.
Seahawks fans twice set the Guinness World Record for loudest crowd roar at an outdoor stadium, in 2013 and 2014.
The stadium was built on the Kingdome site, and 97 percent of the old building's concrete was recycled, with about 35 percent of it used in Lumen Field.
In 2022 Lumen Field became the first NFL stadium to use Amazon Just Walk Out checkout-free concessions.
The stadium is open to the elements, with a roof over about 70 percent of the seats but not the field. Fans in uncovered sections should plan for the weather on the day.
