Getting there

30 minby car from Chicago Midway (MDW); also ORD 60 min

Metra serves the Museum Campus site at the 18th Street and Roosevelt stations, with CTA rail connections as well. On game days the Bears run a free GEICO shuttle from the Millennium Park garages (service begins three hours before kickoff and runs until two hours after the game), and a separate shuttle runs from the McCormick Place Lot B.

Parking

Lots right around the stadium need a pre-paid pass and open four hours before kickoff. A limited number of single-game passes go on sale through SoldierFieldParking.com, and Burnham Harbor single-game and partial-season passes start in November. If you can't get a pass, drive-up options include the Millennium garages (with the free shuttle) and McCormick Place Lot B. Parking on the residential streets around the stadium is prohibited and ticketed.

Tailgating

Tailgating is allowed in the Museum Campus surface lots, on the open upper level of the Waldron Deck, and in McCormick Place Lots B, D and E. Tailgating ends two hours after the game, is not allowed during the game, and tents, canopies, fire pits and deep fryers are banned. Grills must stay in open-air lots, not in garages or the lower Waldron Deck.

Good to know

  1. 01

The Bears played their first Soldier Field home game on September 19, 1971, beating the Steelers 17-15.

  2. 02

The 2002-03 renovation cut capacity and led to the stadium being delisted as a National Historic Landmark in 2006.

  3. 03

Chicago Fire's 2025 match against Inter Miami drew 62,358, a soccer attendance record that a 2026 rematch with Miami then topped.

Weather

Home games run from early-fall warmth into winter. Chicago has cold, snowy winters and the stadium sits on an open lakefront site, so late-season games can be cold.
