Getting there

20 minby car from Louis Armstrong New Orleans (MSY)

The Dome sits downtown beside Interstate 10 and Poydras Street, within about a mile of the French Quarter and the Central Business District, so many fans walk from nearby hotels. New Orleans Regional Transit (NORTA) buses serve the area, and the Union Passenger Terminal is close by. The designated rideshare drop-off and pick-up zone is on Poydras Street between Clara Street and Loyola Avenue, though the spot can change by event.

Parking

The complex has seven garages (1, 1A, 2, 2A, 5, 6 and Champions Garage) and two surface lots (3 and 4), all next to the Dome and the Smoothie King Center. Saints-game garages are fully digital, so passes live on your phone, and the garages take cards only. Booking runs through JustPark EventPass and spaces are limited on game days, so reserve ahead. Police post parking restrictions on surrounding streets such as Poydras, Girod and Perdido and ticket or tow violators.

Tailgating

The organized option is the Champions Square Tailgate, which opens three hours before kickoff and winds down 45 minutes before the game. It is for ticketed guests only, with security screening and ticket scanning at the entrances, and there is no re-entry once you go in. Stadium gates open two hours before kickoff.

Where to sit

The Dome is fully enclosed, so there is no sun, rain or wind to plan around and every seat is climate-controlled. Seating runs from the plaza and loge levels up through the lower and upper terrace; the Gate B, D and H atriums have escalators that are the quickest way up for terrace-level ticket holders. Your mobile ticket shows your designated entry gate, which is the fastest route to your seat.

Good to know

  1. 01

The Superdome opened on August 3, 1975, and its original artificial turf was Monsanto's "Mardi Grass" surface, used until 2003.

  2. 02

The building's record crowd is 78,133, set at WrestleMania 34 on April 8, 2018.

  3. 03

It reopened on September 25, 2006, after post-Hurricane Katrina repairs of about $193 million, and the Saints marked the 20th anniversary of that return at a Monday-night home game on October 5, 2026.
