West 3rd Street station on the RTA Waterfront Line sits just south of the stadium and was built to handle event crowds. The stadium itself has no public parking, so many fans combine a park-and-ride with the rail line or walk in from downtown garages.
The stadium has no public lots of its own. Fans use adjacent facilities: the Port Authority visitors lot, the West 3rd Street lot, the Great Lakes Science Center garage and city of Cleveland municipal lots. The Browns sell reserved parking alongside each home-game ticket listing.
Tailgating is common in the city-owned municipal lots near the stadium. Dawg Pound Drive on Alfred Lerner Way is the team's organized pregame party, with a DJ, games, giveaways and appearances by Chomps and Brownie. Hospitality tailgate packages that include a private heated space and VIP parking are also sold.
The east end zone holds the Dawg Pound, the bleacher section that succeeded the original at old Cleveland Stadium. Its upper level was trimmed in the 2014 renovation to make room for a larger scoreboard, and the house band now plays from a stage in lower-bowl Section 125 near it. The Browns also sell field seats and club tickets.
The stadium stands on the site of Cleveland Municipal Stadium, the Browns' home from 1946 through 1995.
Through the 2025 season it was the only NFL stadium that had never hosted a postseason game of any kind.
The field is warmed by an underground system of nine boilers and about 40 miles of piping to keep the grass growing into winter.
Cleveland averages a high near 64 F and low near 47 F in October, 51/37 in November, 40/28 in December and 36/22 in January (1991-2020 normals). It is the snowiest of the four open-air AFC North cities, with about 4.5 inches in November, 12 in December and 18 in January on average, and the stadium sits right on Lake Erie.
